Get there, travel to Koh Phangan Thailand

You must first get to Haad Rin town on Koh Pha Ngan. Getting there from Bangkok can be by overnight bus or train - both bookable in Bangkok on arrival or by air. This is a 1.5 hour flight to Koh Samui and is bookable on the internet ( www.bangkokair.com). From their you can get the regular ferry boat from Big Buddha pier to Had Rin. This ferry departs at 1030 am,1 pm and 4 pm.

From there you can either get a local taxi boat or take the 2 hour hike over the mountain. Most choose the taxi boat. In monsoon time (November to February) the boats usually depart from the main pier in Had Rin town. The remainder of the year they leave from sunrise beach. The journey will take you 15 mins.

From mid February to mid October there is an express ferry from Mae Nam pier on Koh Samui. This ferry, the Thong Nai Pan ferry, departs Mae Nam @ 12 mid day and stops at Had Rin town, The Sanctuary Had Tien

and then goes to Tan Sadet & Thong Nai Pan.

Note that monsoon does not mean bad weather. It means that the waves are bigger and there will be evening showers some days. Most often the sun is out and beaching is possible. There will, however, be periods of overcast and showers. The temperature is cooler and more comfortable in this time.

You can also hire a speed boat to pick you up at the airport and zoom you off to paradise
