Earth Priestess with Mishaal

Shakti Dance Retreat… the Sacred Sensual Dance of the Divine Feminine

20th – 24th January  2014

relax your mind awaken body  and soul

Shakti Dance, as taught by Mishaal, draws from the mystical roots of belly dance, and sacred temple dance. With awareness of our breath, and inner focus, we use a language of sacred geometry, tracing circles, spirals, serpentine waves, infinity loops, and shimmies throughout our body, awakening and cultivating Shakti flow.

This week will be dedicated to exploring, and honoring the divine feminine essence within, through sacred sensual dance, as we work with archetypes, goddesses, and nature.  On our last night we will make a special dance offering for The Sanctuary community.

The rich natural setting of The Sanctuary, will support us as we dance in nature, connect with the earth, air, fire, water, and spirit, and awaken and remembering our primal essence, and honor the divine within.

Dance is our inner journey, our prayer, our medicine, our meditation, and offering.  Shakti is the divine feminine creative force within us all.

This retreat is open to all women, no experience necessary, only a desire to dance. Dancers of all levels are welcome!

What to wear?
Comfortable colorful clothes you feel beautiful in for dancing, can be as simple as a bikini top and sarong, or a tanktop and flowing ‘indian’ skirt.  Nothing tight around your waist, can be a as casual or elaborate as you wish.

Forgot to bring something? no problem, maybe you can find a beautiful shell or rock, or twig…

Each morning we will explore related themes through dance, later in the day we will hold Goddess Circles, and Dance Temple, where we go on an inner journey through our dance, and also share our deep dance with each other, and we will prepare our dance offerings for our last night prayer-formance.
