This course introduces the theoretical and practical framework of structural bodywork. Course material is inspired by the teachings of Ida P. Rolf’s Structural Integration (aka ‘Rolfing). Open to all levels of experience  – body workers, therapists, teachers of yoga and movement. Hands-on practice throughout the week will be supported by individualized guidance.

Structural Integration (aka ‘Rolfing’) is a holistic and scientifically proven technique that is based on deep tissue manipulation and movement education.  By contacting and adjusting the system of fascial (connective tissue), tension is released in the tissue and the body is re-balanced and realigned with the earth’s gravitational field.  The result can be more energy, increased breathing capacity, elimination of chronic pain, and a restored sense of well-being.

Learn Structural Bodywork with Mitchell Gold, an Advanced Practitioner of Structural Integration (aka ‘Rolfing’) with an extensive background in other bodywork modalities (e.g. Trager Work, Swedish-Esalen, Energy). Mitchell has been practicing and teaching bodywork internationally for 35+ years.  He has instructed in Japan, Indonesia, Thailand and the U.S., on a variety of related topics including functional alignment, anatomy,  structural bodywork and asana practice.  Mitchell is also a practitioner and Authorized Level II teacher of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.  He has worked for the past 15 years with dedicated practitioners of movement – yoga, martial arts and dance – and extensively with the effects and demands of yoga practice.

He  teaches Ashtanga with his partner, senior teacher Kirsten Berg, in the US, Southeast Asia and Europe.  (See www.ashtangazone.com for more information.
